The CSC Lombardy campus, established in Milan in 2004 thanks to an agreement between the Fondazione Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and Lombardy Region, is committed to training new professionals in the field of industrial film communication, documentary and advertising.

Since 2010, the campus is located in viale Fulvio Testi in Milan, on the grounds of a former Tobacco’s Factory: it is a large, renovated space, designed to be functional for the entertainment business and to promote and disseminate CSC initiatives for Lombardy Region.

The three-year program focuses on cinematography and business communication.

It aims at training future experts in conceiving advertising, audio-visual products, who will hopefully work with institutional and corporate clients in the dissemination of promotional contents on various platforms such as cinema, TV, web and museums.

The first year’s classes include both classic lectures and practical workshops which focus on gaining the skills to interpretate clients’ brief. Students also attend classes of writing, production, directing, shooting techniques, photography, editing, production scheduling, actors’ direction, and on-set practice.

During the second year students work following professors’ instructions, simulating realistic professional situations: first contact with clients, creative competitions and production without any pressing deadline.

The third year sees the kick-off of a true authorial workshop, where each student, under the school’s guidance, will reach professional independence, will tackle real assignments and will be required to keep deadlines, and, by the end of the year, will create a presentation reel including all the commercials, documentaries and video clips that they produced throughout the year.

During the last five years the following professors have held classes: Davide Aicardi (screenwriting), Tommaso Barbaro (sound), Tommaso Bernabei (directing), Giuseppe Carrieri (documentary directing), Barbara Enrichi (actor direction), Mauro Garofalo (writing), Massimo Germoglio (workflow), Fabio Ilacqua (directing), Miguel Lombardi (directing), Mauro Marchesini (film analysis), Valentina Materiale (casting), Francesco Montella (creative writing), Paolo Pelizza (production), Alessandra Pescetta (directing), Luca Robecchi (cinematography), Samuele Romano (directing), Rita Rossi (editing), Roberto Tiraboschi (screenwriting), Gilberto Squizzato (documentary directing), Giorgio Vita Levi (sound post-production), Giancarlo Zappoli (film analysis)
