The 68th Taormina Film Fest (June 26-July 2) celebrates two great icons of comedy, Vittorio Gassman and Ugo Tognazzi. The two legendary actors will be remembered by their children, Paola and Gian Marco, with the screening of Alberto Lattuada‘s Venga a prendere il caffè… da noi (Come Have Coffee with Us), starring Tognazzi, and Senza famiglia, nullatenenti cercano affetto (Without Family), starring Gassman, who also wrote and directed the film; both film have been restored by the CSC – Cineteca Nazionale. The collaboration between the CSC – Cineteca Nazionale and the Taormina Film Fest is also renewed through the remembrance, 150 years after his birth, of Angelo Musco – one of the greatest Sicilian comic actors, and an adoptive citizen of Taormina – and the screening of C’era una volta Angelo Musco (Once Upon a Time There Was Angelo Musco…, 1953), starring a very young Nino Manfredi. The events will be held at the Casa del Cinema in Taormina.
Venga a prendere il caffè… da noi is scheduled on June 27, at 4 p.m.; Senza famiglia, nullatenenti cercano affetto will be presented on June 28, at 5:30 p.m. with an introduction by Alberto Anile, Conservator at the CSC – Cineteca Nazionale; on Friday, July 1, at 4:30 p.m., there will be a screening of C’era una volta Angelo Musco by Giorgio W.
