La moda: giornale delle dame

Magazine published in Milan in post-resurgence Italy by the publishing house of the Treves Brothers, that it’s remembered among other things for having competed with the Sonzogno in the field of economic magazines, also publishing “Margherita”, “L’eleganza”, “La moda illustrata”, “L’Eco della Moda”, “Lavori femminili” and “Corriere delle signore”. The publishing house aimed to play the role of “great workshop of national culture” through emancipation from foreign production, with the aim of a wider project of nationalization of the Italian bourgeoisie. The color boards reproduce scenes of home and everyday life: children playing under the watchful eye of elegant women.
